PHOTO GALLERY: A Visual Walk-through of the house.
THIS VISUAL WALK-THROUGH offers the visitor glimpses of the leafy avenue on
which the house is situated and, then, moves sequentially through the
entry way into the welcoming court, the main entry lobby of the house,
the center court, and the garden and waterfall beyond.
From the main entry lobby, the house reveals itself gradually as one proceeds, to the West and North sides, towards an intimate seating area that leads further into either a separate large study to the left, or into the living room to the right. To the East side of the main entry lobby, one moves into the dining room, the kitchen (in the Southeast) and the adjoining patio (that is used for al fresco dining) overlooking a tranquil water pool in the Northeast -- all spaces perfectly positioned to satisfy Vaastu and Feng-shui sensitivities! A tour of the ground floor is completed by visiting the study and another exclusive court that can also be directly (and separately) accessed from the main entry gate on the roadside. The powder room (which gives the appearance of being a small picture gallery rather than a powder room), is itself a stunning feature of the house and is located between the study and the living room.
The stairway ascends to the first floor which accommodates three separate bedrooms; a family room with an attached kitchenette; a "puja"/meditation room overlooking the waterfall below; and a court attached to the family room and the guest bedroom. A large maids' room with its own separate kitchen and toilet, and a separate spiral staircase for direct access, plus a laundry room with an attached clothes drying terrace (see Floor Plans section), are also located on the first floor but are not shown in the Photo Gallery.
The stairs to the second floor pause at mid-level to provide a tree-top level perch (appearing under the caption 'Front Elevation" in the Photo gallery pictures) overlooking the glorious Black-eyed Bauhinia tree in the entry court on one side and the family room on the first floor on the other; a mid-stairs level seating area, with its eastern, southern and western orientation, is ideal for soaking in the winter sun from morning to evening!
The second floor accommodates a large bedroom, a small study, and a private terrace garden. The male servants' quarters (see Floor Plans section) with their own separate kitchen and toilet, and separately accessible via a spiral staircase, are also located in the Northwest but do not appear in the Photo Gallery.
