A LUXURY HOME that offers a taste of Bali in India!
30 & 31, Sukhchain Marg, DLF-I, Gurgaon.
Mobile: 0-98802-51188.
A tranquil oasis in the heart of a dense suburban setting.
A home and a garden that complement each other, a piece of nature, all to yourself.
Ideally suited for (a) a lavish Corporate Guesthouse,
or (b) as a Residence for CEO- or Director-level executives, MNC heads, or for well-traveled families.
A standalone home in DLF-I, Gurgaon, just half an hour's drive from New Delhi's International Airport; barely 15 minutes from MediCity, DLF CyberCity and Epicentre (Gurgaon's cultural hub); and only a few minutes from the prestigious DLF Golf Club, the finest gourmet stores, a wide range of fine dining restaurants, the nearest Metro Station, and Gurgaon's shopping malls. Situated on the only two contiguous 500 sq.yd. plots, on a quiet leafy avenue in DLF's best residential area (see Map under Location). A five-bedroom, 8,400 sq.ft., designer home with elegance and functionality, built on three storeys (see under Floor Plans section), for people looking for a "farmhouse" lifestyle within the city.
The house is expansive, yet intimate. The tasteful and luxurious interior design makes extensive use of traditional teak wood doors and windows, large expanses of glass, and warm-colored natural stone flooring. It enables a lifestyle that brings the outdoors inside, and provides closeness while ensuring privacy. The original house and landscape architecture were designed by the highly acclaimed architect Gautam Bhatia, recipient of several prestigious awards. Interiors and recent major renovations that substantially transformed the house were designed by RSDA, a dynamic young architectural firm headed by Rahoul Singh, a graduate of Rhode Island School of Design, USA, and his partner, Lakshmi Chand, both exceedingly talented young architects with a keen eye for interesting and meticulous interior detailing, and a passion for creating good architecture.
The landscape for the house, designed by Gautam Bhatia, is created as a setting of deliberate division. Courts, gardens, verandah, water pool are seen not just as unifying elements, but as rooms in the landscape. By making walls between them, their independence suggests a spatial experience that is self contained, and intimate, rather than grand and all-inclusive. Glimpses of each court, or the movement from verandah to court to garden is controlled by traditional doors and windows, that shutter out the larger picture and keep the viewer guessing on his exact position in the plan. Such division allows for elements of surprise and discovery. The presence of water, the surface texture of earth and walls, the greenery and foliage, built-in seats and traditional furniture are designed to highlight that effect. Of a home within a home.
